Me!!! A few years ago my 4310 would run for a few moments and the die. I figured it was fuel related because it was single digits for highs. I changed the fuel filter and still would not run. Finally out of frustration, I decided to drain all the fuel and take it inside to warm it up. On the 4310 there is a water drain on the right side and this is where I was going to drain it. Opened the petcock and nothing would come out. It is the lowest place on the tank and collected water and we have to buy Biodiesel blended fuel here in Ia. Used the propane torch to hit the brass fitting with a little heat and finally got the blockage cleared. Fast forward to this August. Instead of going to the BP(where the do NOT sell Bio blended diesel) I went to another, closer station. Guess what happened today when I was putting the loader on due to pending snow? You guessed it! The tractor started and idled fine but had nothing for power. I looked in the tank and it looked like a frozen margarita in there!! After letting it idle for a half hr the 4310 finally cleaned up and ran well. Dodged a bullet there. I went to the localk BP station and filled my diesel cans and topped off the tank. I think I will be good from here.
I would have bet that any diesel I bought in August would have been used up before it got cold.....I was wrong. On the bright side I knew what it was right away today. I hope my stupidity might help someone else!!
