Winter Storm "Electrode"

I thought I'd start a thread about this storm since it's some of us late comers first time messing about with our new 10XX's...

Could not mount my chains (incorrect spacer fit) so I thought I'd just give it a whack bare footed. Not being a fan of excess rear weight unloading the front wheels, I loaded the ballast box with about 140-160# of paving stone. I did the flat turnaround area enough to back blade out by the wood pile and plowed (rubber edge) about 10' down the driveway. Hoping for the best I gave it good dab on the reverse pedal... NO SWEAT! It hooked up fine and backed right up. I headed right down for the street, full angle left.

Granted, this was earlier this afternoon, only about 3" of snow, but I did most of my driveway and the neighbor across the street in 2WD even backing uphill out of his driveway it didn't spin a wheel. Rubber blade really cleaned this snow down to the blacktop grit. I'll still follow up getting the spacers machined correctly as I know sooner or later there's be the inevietible "Wintery Mix" icy base storms and will run chains after I get them back.

Notes:
>I reversed the Black and Yellow upper/lower inside hydraulic lines on the plow angle circuit to move properly, SCV lever now is "Left is Left/Right is Right". I also changed the "protectors" to the proper lines.

>Ran the RPMs right around 2100 as it was enough speed for low range plowing and high range street travel. Have to see what tomorrow brings, but I think right around that range there's plenty of power to push.

>Snow sure builds up fast on that dashboard!

>Engine runs about half indicated temperature as Summer mowing. Anyone using that optional higher temp thermastat or a "sweater" on the radiator screen?
