Hello,
I hang out on here a lot reading but usually don't post much. I am about to build a house this Spring and wanting to save some money by doing a lot of the work myself. I own a 1026r and I am considering buying the 260 backhoe to help with the project. I do not plan to dig the basement or footings. I will do all the drainage work, utility trenching, etc. My thoughts are to buy the backhoe and use it for the house, then sell it. I don't anticipate needing it after I get the house finished.
Do you think I will come out in the long run ok or should I just pay for all the work done? I have a huge yard now so when I bought the tractor, I bought the Autoconnect 60 deck. When this house is finished, I will not need the deck either because it will mostly be woods. When I stop using it for mowing, it may be hard to justify keeping it around anyway. I need a little tractor though because I keep up a deer lease.
Any thoughts? Anyone want to trade a 260 backhoe for a mowing deck and cash?
