It is my understanding that due to tier 4 compliance problems the 3 cylinder 2.9 liter and the 5 cylinder 3.0 liter diesels will not be available in future 5000 series Deere products. The 2014, 5075M will now have the tier IV interim 276 cu in engine and I suspect the 5065M will as well, if offered. I don't know what will happen to the 5000 E series 3 cylinder tractors??? It is also my understanding that Deere is toying with introducing a gas engine for the low end utility tractors... for compliance reasons. Not sure if this is actually all true..perhaps a rumor started by Kubota ??? Interestingly, AGCO recently released a 3 cylinder 3.3 Liter, 201 cu in diesel that is tier 4 i compliant, with no DPF and no need for "fluid"... a SISU, I believe. Is Deere deemphasizing the low end utility tractor market? My dealer agreed with me when I told him the newly announced 5075E (tier 2 engine)with cab & power reverser, etc., is junk... compared with the competition. Actually, his comments were along the lines of "being a bit disappointed in the offering"...
