New member here and not very familiar with the site. I apologize in advance.
I have a 4630 quad range tractor that has no steering or hydraulic remote pressure. It will go forward and reverse fine and the pto seems to work fine as well. A little bit of history on it: The tractor had been abandoned for +-10 years before it got it. while sitting in the field not being in use the hydraulic fill cap was missing letting dirt, bugs, seeds, and other debris enter into the hydraulic fluid reservoir. After I got the tractor started and added hydro fluid it lifted the milo planter that was hooked to it out of a mount of sand with no problem, the steering and remotes also worked well too. Soon after that it slopped moving so i replaced the hydraulic filter. This happened about 12 times, replacing the filter every time. After the first time it happened i didn't have a filter to replace it with so i towed the tractor home, about 5 miles. While towing it home i did not know that it had to be in a tow gear (between D and C on the range). While towing it home I had the tractor running and in gear, but not tow gear. It never tried to move on it's own power. After getting it home and changing the filters the other 10 or so times it now moves on its own fine but the steering and remotes no longer seem to function. I HAVE also cleaned the sump screen several times. Also I do NOT have john deere hydraulic fluid in it, I have a universal hydraulic fluid that is from Tractor Supply Company. I know there are test ports on the housings on the left side of the case but I cant find a gauge to fit in them nor do i know the pressure they are supposed to be at. Is there any other component that could be clogged up from the debris that got in there while the cap was off. Is there anything else for me to check. ANY help on this issue would be greatly appreciated!
