How to remove quick coupler from deck wash port?

The dealer delivered my x500 with the hose quick coupler already attached to the deck wash port. I have no intention of using it but I'm not sure how to remove it. Does it have a locking ring or do you simply yank it off? The manual gives no details other than "Attach quick coupler" and "remove quick coupler". I know this is a silly question but I didn't want to break it by pulling too hard if there is some sort of release mechanism.
