I received my Artillian Ballast Box Cart today and fortunately the weather was decent and I was able to give it a try. I took a few photos of the unboxing and mounting. As you can see, the caster bolts chewed through the box a bit but it did not result in any damage. The fit and finish is very nice and the unit appears to be built to the same high standards as other Artillian equipment. It took less than 10-minutes to unbox and mount the cart. The four provided locking bolts keep the unit securely attached to the ballast box.
As you can see I have the JD extension mounted to my ballast box. I had previously tried building my own wooden platform with casters. It supported the box okay but despite my using five large casters it was still next to impossible to move across my wooden garage floor. The quality of the Artillian casters appears to be better than the ones I used. That combined with having six of them allowed the Artillian cart to move much easier. Don't get me wrong, I didn't have to worry about it getting away from me and rolling across the floor on its own. But I was able to easily rotate it and roll in any direction. Even with my box extension it seemed very stable and showed no tendency to tilt while pushing it. I am glad I got the 6-caster version.
Overall it is an improvement over what I was previously using.
