Wifey wants to fence in 2 acres of brushy woods for two little dwarf goats to get lost in. I told her I'm going to need a grapple to clear fencerows. She was ready to buy one, but I love building stuff like this. I have a three day weekend for the holiday so I figured it would be a good time to get started. I actually started designing this last summer but never got around to finishing until now. I picked up materials and started cutting yesterday after work, finished cutting all the major parts this morning, then spent the rest of the day putting it together. Still lots of little stuff to do, but I'm waiting for the cylinders to arrive before I go any further, they should be here tomorrow.
Anyway, here it is. I figured you guys would enjoy seeing this. The tines are 3/8" plate with 8" spacing, 64" wide overall. The tines are shorter than most, I made them the same size as the bucket on the 400CX. I wanted to keep it light since there's a double penalty for weight (higher material cost and reduced capacity). It will open up to about 30". I still need to add lots of gussets, make the pins, and the mounts.
