After reading my question, ya'll will know what I've known all along - I ain't no mechanic!!!
Anyway, was going to service my 647 yesterday. Got the manual out. Greased where I should have greased - mostly. Manual has pictures that point to the plastic PTO safety cover. Cover has what looks to be a couple of "fake" zerks. Well I didn't have a "fake" grease gun to fit it, so, I'm thinking, is a needle attachment for my gun needed to puncture that plastic at the "fake" zerk, and just squirt a little grease in there?
So then I turn to the two places that require gear oil. So I take my channel locks, and start turning the round cap, thinking it unscrewed and there would be a dipstick attached. Hmmmm, no threads. It pops off. Still no dipstick. So I'm thinking I have to get my adjustable wrench, and that whole assembly unscrews and THEN I'll find the dipstick. But I'm going no further till I hear from the experts.
I think I need a 647 owners manual for dummies.
After ya'll quit laughing, I'd appreciate any advice!
Thanks!
