I had stored the mower deck height adjustment arm in the up and locked position for about 2 weeks.
The hydraulics were hooked up to my front end loader during that time.
When I tried to swap back to the mower deck configuration, I found it impossible to connect the "yellow" hydraulic quick disconnect for the mower deck height control. The control arm was in the fully raised and locked position and could not be moved.
After 30 minutes of non-productive trial and error, I figured there was significant back-pressure in the mower deck level hydraulics system preventing me for making the hydraulic quick connect connection.
I bled the hydraulic pressure (getting a face full of hydraulic oil spray) and everything worked OK after that.
How did a locked mower deck control system that was disconnected build up high hydraulic pressure?
Lesson learned - don't lock the mower deck height control arm in the up position when not in use (not hydraulically connected). You could experience hydraulic system pressure lock.
