Using the daughters FIL x585 just turned 800 hrs . Two years ago while mowing temperature gauge would hit the red line. Sent the mower to the dealer , after 5 or 6 weeks, dealer returned tractor and found no problem. Today while mowing temp gauge again in the red zone. Lifted the hood while getting tractor to the garage and heat was over whelming. Pulled the tractor into the garage , set brake , with engine still running got off , fan turning OK, antifreeze at the H mark in the recovery tank. Cleaned the side screens and the the radiator screen before starting to mow ,plus they were still clean. While idling temp gauge went down , 1/4" in maybe 3-5 mins. with hood open. Turned off engine and left it set about 15 min , sprayed cold water into the radiator toward the seat . After 5 min of spraying water, started mowing again , mowed about 3 hrs and no more over heating.
Guessing the back side of the radiator is beginning to get clogged and will need to spray it a couple times a year to keep it cooling at normal temps.
