THIS is why I do MOST of my own service work!

I did my 200 hour service on my 1026R transmission this morning. I thought it unusual that the top clamp to the hose for the suction screen was still untouched from the factory, as my dealer's serviceman did my 50 hour service at my place in the summer of 2012. So when I get the suction screen out for cleaning THIS is what I found:

The problem was that the top clamp was hard to get to because it was twisted to the left. But it didn't take me much to get it, and OBVIOUSLY their serviceman DIDN'T READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SERVICE THIS PART!!!

So the suction screen was bent probably both coming out and going back in. To add further insult to the ineptness of his work, he TRIED to straighten it using a 1/2" drive extension, and deformed the hole in the end doing so!

Now the instructions CLEARLY say BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT BEND THIS TUBE AND MAKE SURE IT GOES IN STRAIGHT! TRANSMISSION DAMAGE MAY OCCUR IF IMPROPERLY INSTALLED!

It doesn't appear there was any damage to anything other than the suction tube itself. However, there were lots of shavings attached to the outside of the suction screen thanks to the magnet, along with many shavings in the bottom of the pan, found by wiping my finger inside the suction screen hole. The fluid drained clear, but there was much "sparkle" in the bottom of the drain pan. Is that normal for a 200 hour service, or was my transmission damaged? Now I'm worried!

I'm leaving my dealer's name out of this until things get resolved tomorrow, but I am NOT happy!

And THIS is why I do ALMOST ALL of my own service work, ESPECIALLY on our fleet of vehicles.

BTW, we just got a new Gator 825i 2 weeks ago from the SAME dealer!
