JD 6400, battery not charging all of a sudden (has ben fine the past two years on my farm). Belt is in good condition and tight. New battery. Replaced ground wire, rerouting to upper starter stud (old ground was compromised). Digging into the altenator wiring, it looks like it was jury rigged by a previous owner. There is an orange wire with copper bared and tapped to the positive lead on altenator! Where should that wire really be? And a small blue wire that comes off a second altenator connector is severed from where ever it is suppose to go. I've found two unattached wires in the vicinity, one purple, the other black. I've no idea where the purple goes (disppears into a bundle). The black heads back to the front of tractor, likely a ground at the negative battery pole. Anyone out there have a wiring diagram of a 6400 altenator harness or has anyone rewired this part of a 6400? Thanks.
