Hi all, I purchased a used JD 2720 w/46 BH a couple weeks ago...and I'm very happy with it so far.
Today I went and bought a Frontier 2048 rotary cutter....brought it home.....took the BH off and re-installed the 3 point arms.
Went to hook up to the cutter, but the 3 point arms don't seem to spread wide enough to hook up to the rotary cutter before rubbing against the tires.
I've checked to make sure I installed the 3 point arms correctly.
Thought about turning the lift pins inward...but doesn't look like they can be turned inward due to the way the gussets on the cutter are designed, would not give clearance for lift arms to even begin to attach.
Got dark on me so I had to give up for the day, but I'm pretty frustrated.
Am I totally missing something here ???
Do the tires "have" to be turned to the "wide position" to hook up to a normal Cat. 1 implement ???
Is the only other option purchasing a Quick Hitch for another 350.00 ???
Can't seem to find much info on this. The frontier website mentions in the description for the RC20XX cutters that the front hitch is "reversible" to accommodate smaller or older tractors. Not sure at all what they mean by reversible ???
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks,
Jeff
