New member - New one series!

I'm sure you've heard the story before: In the 70's I picked up a new JD 210 w/ 47" deck. I served me faithfully with very little down time. I'd still be happily using it, but this year my mowing went from 1 acre to 3. The extra couple are pretty rough & wild. The 210 was having trouble with long, wet weeds, and it was a 2.5hr job to finish mowing. I like the 'zen' of mowing, but 2.5hrs+ every time is a chore. Wasn't long before I decided to upgrade.
How could I NOT consider another Deere? I was initially thinking 700 series, but with some on-line research and dealer visit, I discovered the one series had $1250 off and 0%. This made the price of a 750 in the general ballpark of a 1023E. When it was done, I pushed it up a bit with the H120 fel and 60" deck. But I have not looked back!

What I like: Turning circle seems smaller than my 210. Power steering. No shifting. 60" swath. Speed. Loader bucket.
Don't like: Lugging diesel fuel in addition to gas for other tools. Seat & back-up safety switches. (found the info to deal with this on this site)
Still playing with the deck level, it's scalping a bit, and hitting a small bump makes the deck lean over and 'side scalp'.

On the whole, I'm pleased. I hope this machine runs for years, as trouble free as the 210. My mow time cut in half! And now, as an older guy, I anticipate the bucket being a big help clearing the rest of the new lot. 1023e rocks!
