Brand New 1025R

Just purchased a new 1025R w/ front loader, Frontier rear mower, and Frontier rear blade. Bought this to mow my fields to keep down thistles, and ticks/fleas. I traded in an older Kubota L245DT.

Was unable to use for 1st couple of weeks because of all the rain we received. Proceded to take off loader so I could mow. Had to find video on YouTube to figure out how to remove loader. That was uneventful.

Proceeded to attach rear mower. Took almost 1/2 hr to attach to 3 pt. - not fun.
Real problem was trying to attach the drive to the PTO. That took almost an hour, and I was ready to put it along the road with either a 'For Sale' or 'Free' sign.
My neighbor actually attached it for me, and even he had problems.

I started mowing, my farm is rolling hills, and I was losing front wheel traction and steering control. I just figured it was because the grass was wet. Next time I was mowing, not only was I losing steering control, but the wheels were coming off the ground.

I ordered the front weight bracket and 4 - suitcase weights. The bracket comes with a safety bar to hold the weights in place. Once the weights are attached, the bar be used as the weights are in the way - I estimate the front of the bracket needs to be cut down at least 1/2".

After not being able to attach the mower, and the bracket not working as designed, I am getting rid of this tractor. It has 1.5 hours on it.

I was looking at the new Kubota's and their PTO is much better designed - it's tapered.

This is my 1st and last Deere tractor. I have enough of it and it is going back. I'm going to get a Kubota. Or New Holland. Or CaseIH. Anything but a Deere!
