My new to me used truck

I've been wanting a new/newer truck for a long time. The kids are grown and the 1999 Suburban does not get used like it used to. Two weekends ago my daughter was returning from the 4H State Horse show with the Suburban pulling a three horse trailer. She had returned her horse and was taking another girls horse to their place. She was almost there when she called me and said the suburban quit, then over heated. She said gauges were normal, it just quit, she pulled over, it would not start, then the coolant tank started overflowing.

By the time I got there it was cool enough to add coolant. I put in almost 2 gallons. Another Dad got there before I did and he checked the oil and it was OK. I tried starting it and it started, but barely ran, it has oil pressure, but is knocking real bad. I pulled forward far enough for another truck to hook up to the horse trailer. Barely running, no power, loud knocking. Towed it home. Next day put the code reader on it and no codes were set.

The wife said you can buy a truck now. I wanted a diesel, but could not justify the price for my use. I bought a 2011 Silverado LTZ with a 6.2L V8. LTZ package was the only way I could find one with the 6.2L V8. I wanted a 6.2 after reading the 5.3 did not tow well and there could be oil burning problems with the newer ones that have AFM. 6.2s were hard to find used with low miles. Black is not my first color choice, but when buying used it's not the top priority. I also do not care for the 20" wheels and short side wall tires. I'll have to find some truck wheels and tires for it. Picture is at the dealer's lot. I pick it up tonight.
