Hydrostatic Transmission Oil

Hey all!

Have some questions (two), but first this one.
If any of you seasoned owners (ones that owned a Greenie for 20 years or better or had enough hours on them to equivalent that) could answer this.

The manual on the 4000 series of compact utility tractors states they recommend : JD Hygard Low Viscosity oil The temperature range for that oil according to the manual is -40F to 80 degrees F.

Now, we all use our tractors to cut grass and it is sometimes 100 degrees F out.

And, conversely we all push snow in the Winter with a lot of them that have front end loaders.

So should we use this oil or not?????? :unknown:

Now the standard JD HYGard is about 0 degrees to 122 F.

What are we all using? /// This is kind of a Catch-22...unless their operating temp #'s are way off???
