I have a JD x720 lawn tractor and would like to add a snow blower. I got a quote from the local dealer for a 47", 2 stage blower, quick hitch, front PTO, and drive shaft for significantly more than I would like to spend.
I have found several 49" single stage snow blowers, more in my price range, but not directly compatible with the x720.
I have been getting conflicting answers on compatibility. I talked with the JD dealer and was told a 49" single stage snow blower could be compatible with the x720 with the correct quick hitch and drive shaft extension. Several of the sellers however, indicated that their snow blowers were made before the quick hitch came around so would not be compatible.
I am not familiar with any of the snow blowers or the quick hitch.
What are the main challenges to compatibility? Where would be the best source for the answers? I do not want to buy a snow blower and find out it can not be made compatible with my tractor.
