Im a new member with a John Deere EZTrak Z245. I was recently mowing the lawn when I smelled burning plastic. It turns out there was melted plastic on the muffler. The mystery is where it came from. I included a few pictures here of the muffler and the intake manifold which is directly above the melted area. My initial suspicion is that there is a hose or something directly above that worked itself loose and landed on the muffler. However after searching parts diagrams I cannot figure out if there was in fact a hose connected to the manifold. Not sure if the two (2) little tabs on the manifold once had a hose or not, but it did not appear in the parts diagram.
The mower didnt appear to have run any different once I discovered this problem so for all I know it may have been a foreign piece that landed on the muffler, although that seems less likely.
Has anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance.
