john deere 332

Hello, I have a John Deere 332 and I have a problem. I was ridding my lawnmower in my backyard and it suddenly just died and I mean everything died. No electronics work like the lights, starter, glow plugs or fuel solenoid. I have checked the fuses and they are fine and I replaced the battery. But there was something weird about this battery, I have purchased this battery less then a year ago and I had no problems with it, so while the battery was still in the lawnmower I decided to check the voltages and my voltmeter was reading 0.12 volts on this brand new battery which is not right, so what I did was I removed the new battery out of the mower and replaced it with the older one I had and I did a reading on it and it measured about 9 volts before I put it in but that should be more then enough to start the glow plugs and lights and solenoid but it wasn't. So I did another volt test which it was connected to my lawnmower and now this battery was reading 2 volts. For some reason I am thinking that this battery is being shorted some how but I couldn't find a wire that was broken or having any exposed wires. What do you guys think my problem is?

Thank you
