I'm not sure as to the "how" it happened but today I lifted up my 54D mower deck to sharpen the blades and I noticed the left blade shaft was bent and the blade was tilted to one side. I say I'm not sure how because I was gone on vacation a couple of weeks ago and while I was gone, my 21 year old son decided he'd try to be helpful and mow the lawn for me. He's never mowed before and has had no instruction. He confessed he gave up after 5 minutes after he couldn't figure out how to lower the deck. The deck was of course, in the locked position so it wasn't cutting anything because it was too high. It may have very well have been me, I do recall hitting a large submerged rock not too long ago but it was working fine last I used it. The blades, upon inspection, showed no signs of nicking so I'm not sure how it could've happened.
After I reinstalled the blades and started to mow, there was a distinct sound of a blown bearing and an out of balance feeling in the controls.
Just curious if this has happened to anyone here and please share your thoughts, tips and part numbers I will need to fix it. Muchas Gracias!
