I really didn't know where to post this, but this may work. Long story short: I've a friend/Relatitve that has a cottage in Canada, North of Peterborough, Ont. Well Insurance Company is Balking with coverage due two two appliances. One: A Wood/Propane kitchen stove, in the kitchen, and a Franklin Stove in the Living Room. Neither are fuel efficient, but have served us well, for 40yrs!
Well, up comes Insurance renewal. They wanted pictures. We sent them. They want the stoves out, removed, or welded shut/inoperable etc. !!!! We hate to see them go. But it is what it is! Their reason? "Someone might 'break-into' the place, and want to warm-up, and burn it down!" Guess what I'm looking for is an alternate heat for such a place, I've got a Love-Affair with pellet stoves. I've got two, that I love, but they're old Jamestown's.
Our Cottage is on an island. Hauling cord wood is not really convienent.. Pellet bags would be much easier. The technology has come so far, that I just wanted to tap this group for your pellet stove of choice....or other suggestions......... ~Scotty
