Hi there,
Hopefully someone can help me. My 2640 is really struggling to turn over this winter. The batteries are only 6 months old. Cables were also replaced a couple of years back. Have to jump start to get engine to crank over fast enough to start. I am aware of the hydraulic system issues. I turn the steering wheel back and forth to eliminate the pressure. My mechanic looked at the tractor over the summer and told me the starter might be starting to go bad. It is the original.
My question is, is there a way to test the starter without removing it from the tractor? If so, how do I go about doing that?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
