Hi guys,
Looking for an opinion. I have my own, but I'm looking to qualify that.
The question: Is there any ill effects in running the intake heater for 5-10 seconds after the engine starts?
In these cold temperatures (only 10-20°F), I run the intake heater for 20 seconds, but the engine still struggles for a bit after the start. Yesterday, I pushed the key back in after the start and there was a vast improvement in how fast the engine idle cleaned up. I ran it for around 10 seconds and was impressed with how much faster it cleaned up. I was honestly surprised that it was not locked out, but it engaged...
Thoughts??
