I am starting to look at a compact tractor for some property that I may be purchasing in the next couple months and for my landscape business. I've talked with my Deere dealer who I get all my mowing equipment from and I am set on a 3000 series tractor. After driving a few tractors around this winter, I was sold on a cab model to get use out of tractor all year and not just when the weather allows. So after getting pricing info on the tractor, I definitely was not originally wanting to spend so much, especially since I originally wanted an open station model. But I figure that if I'm gonna do this, I might as well do it right the first time! My timeline for purchasing puts me into this spring, which means I will probably end up with a 2014 3033r if there are no more 3320's available, which sounds like there won't be. I have debated spending just a bit more money and stepping up to the 3520 or 3039r but I'd really rather stay away from a turbo charged engine, just to save money upfront and down the road should repairs be made.
So anyway, I want to make sure I do my research on this tractor prior to purchasing, since I'll be spending about $40,000 on the whole thing (with attachments and whatnot). So just a few questions for you guys...
1. Does the 3320/3033r have enough power to run the AC on the cab and still have enough power for PTO attachments and/or loader? I'm not expecting to win any races doing my tasks but still want to be efficient should I be brush hogging, tilling or whatever else.
2. I've heard that the 3000 series tractors are a little narrow and can feel a bit tippy with a cab. I'd probably add 2" wheel spacers to the rear to help with that but don't wanna go too wide so my attachments still cover my tracks, since I won't be wanting to get too large of attachments that my tractor can't run. Would wheel weights help with stability or is filling the rear tires really that much better? Are wheel spacers really necessary?
3. Any major issues with the cab? Anything that you guys found you don't like on the cab? Did you wish you went with an open station instead?
4. I'd be looking at having the mid PTO installed and the 3rd hydro outlet in the rear install also. Anything else I should seriously consider adding or not adding? I want not to spend tons of money on things I don't need.
5. Your overall thoughts on the 3000 series tractors, particularly the 3320 (I know the 3033r is new so few people have even tried them but I do know some of the differences)?
Thanks for your help guys :bye:
