I had posted last year about my John Deere 316 with the Onan engine slowing on hills while mowing and when the hill is topped the mower takes off. No real strain on the engine or rpm change. Chuckv replied with some very detailed and helpful hydro contol linkage information that was greatly appreciated, but the linkage is in excellent condition. Ive had a lot going on since i posted last so i have had no time to dedicate to this until recently. Ive been told that this is my hydrostatic drive going out and it needs to be rebuilt? Also was told that it was going to run about $1100 for the rebuild! Not very interested in this option and would like some helpful opinions on this matter. Thanks!
