LT155 engine info needed

I came across a LT155 for a real cheap price and everything is complete and in great shape, well except the engine. Little back story on how I came to own it. My girlfriend at the time, Well her mother had the mower and it was well taken care of but started running rough. So she took it to a Deere repair place BUT there obviously not such a good place. They told her a list of things wrong and gave her a $900 quote to fix it, Well they also had all ther new models sitting there to replace it. So she said she will just take it home and they gave her the mower and a box of parts.(with a few missing and the wiring to the headlights was stoles out of it also) They even had the head off the engine, WHY would they need to take that off and NOTHING in the estimate says anything the head would need to come off for. Basically they made darn sure she needed to buy a new one. OK well back to my question. I have a LT155 and all but the engine is in great condition and even has the bagger on it. I found a used engine for a real good price which is the Kohler CV15s the same as what's in it. But the spec number on the engines is different, From looking at the parts the only thing I can see in the break down is the started, The two engines are spec No 41594 which is the engine in the mower and the new one is spec No 41571 I'm sure I can mount it in and all the wiring seems the same but will it work without any modification? I sure hope so because I purchased it before I realized there are differences in them. Thanks for any insight on my issue and happy to finally own a John Deere.
