hi all.. any thoughts on spark plug wires for a 318?.. While mowing yesterday I sensed that the engine was revving a bit un evenly.. Tough to describe what I felt and heard.. It would be like if you quickly and slightly increased then decreased the throttle up and down over and over again but very minor.. Anyway. I stopped and popped off the side panels to check things over.. The only thing I actually touched were the spark plug wires.. I popped them off at both ends did a little scrape and clean of the tips, put them back on and the up and down surge was gone.. After another hour and a half of mowing it did it again.. Assuming you all think I'm on the right track for a fix, what spark plug wires do you recommend for this machine?.. Anything else you recommend I should check?.. Would the points play a role in something like this?. Maybe the fuel pump?
