Hydraulic problem with a German Model 830 from 1974

I purchased an 830 at auction 3 months ago. It was working well until a line coming from the front hydraulic pump started leaking recently. I replaced the lines going to and coming from the pump. Since then the hydraulic loader does not work properly. The three point hitch seems to be ok. The valve for the main loader frame will lift if the valve is only partially engaged. If pulled all the way back the frame will not lift. The bucket will not move at all. When it's valve is actuated the line just seems to hammer, with no bucket movement. I do not think that this loader has been on the tractor to long, although not a new loader, all hydraulic hoses are new on the loader and to the valve. The valve looks like it may be new. The float valve is actually hooked to the bucket for some reason and not the boom, something on my to do list. The photos show the ball valve that let's hydraulic fluid go to the loader or when closed just the three point hitch.
Is it just a matter of bleeding the systems, and is there a technique to this ? Or could the problem be something else ?
Thanks for your thoughts on this,
Don
