3032e or 3038e?

Hey y'all. I'm about to trade my 1025r and am trying to decide between these 2 tractors. I know the 3032e has proven reliable, but what about the 3038e? Any issues with it being a turbo? Dealer has quoted me $2200 difference between the two with loaders. I don't need the extra power now, but trying to see into the future a little. Thanks for any input!

ECU Code 1209.03 with big red stop sign

Last weekend the wood box was getting low so I went out to get the 2038r and haul some firewood. As soon as I started it a red stop sign came up on the dash and ecu 1209.03 where it usually shows the hours. Did some searching on the net and found it was a exhaust manifold sensor error.

Called the dealer Monday morning. Service manager Sid he would have to research it and get back to me. He called me back that afternoon and confirmed it was an exhaust manifold sensor error. He ordered one and said it would be in Wednesday. A tech came out Thursday and replaced the sensor. This is with 75 hours on the tractor. I asked him if this would be an ongoing problem. He pointed to the dpf and said as long as all that crap is on there it will.

Any recent input on this mower overall? I've seen generally positive reviews but cant find anything very recent. Thanks!

5310 with 540 loader question

Ok, so a neighbor up the road has a 5310 with a 540 self leveling loader. The tractor is a 4WD not that is matters but we have really nasty soil here and it is very easy to get stuff if you are not careful. We often use our loaders to push ourselves out of a bad situation. So, she gets it stuck and told me when she came to get some hay. I told her I would come help her but she had already called a wrecker. I asked if she had tried to use the bucket to push herself out and I got a blank stare. I tried to explain how you can roll the bucket under (towards the front tires) stick the blade in the ground and get some push to help you out. She said hers won't do that because of self leveling. In my simple mind I figured there must be an override somewhere since I have never dealt with a self leveling loader. I go over yesterday and NOPE I can't find an override and sure enough the bucket will not roll back far enough to get any help from the blade. It starts to roll under but gets just beyond level by a few degrees and stops like it hit a mechanical stop but there is not one.

Anyone have a 540 loader like this? I would like some input if so. I can see her getting stuck a lot if she cant use the bucket to help push herself out.

180 degree thermostat for X595

The parts diagram show the thermostat as "CH15536 Thermostat - THERMOSTAT (71 DEG. C)", which is a 160 degree F. thermostat.

For various reasons I would like to put in a 180 degree F. thermostat.

Does any know of a part number ... John Deere or otherwise ... that will work?

Thanks,
Arvid

Hi there, Im considering purchasing a spare motor and would like to understand what my options are. My JD is currently equipped with Kohler K181s - 8hp. I’ve been searching for a motor of a similar caliber, but they’re though to obtain in my neck of the woods. However, larger motors K241-10hp or K301-12hp or K321-24hp are still in circulation. I don’t want to make a lot of changes to the frame, preferably none. Would like to ask the community for an opinion and some ideas. I’d like to stick with a Kohler brand if possible.

Regards,
KOD

New to me 5410 mfwd with power reverser transmission

Hi All,

New to the forum and John Deere tractors. I just purchased a 1999 5410 mfwd with 541 loader. It has 8750 hours on it and was owned by the original owner and was well maintained. When I bought it it was really cold. The owner had power washed it and got water in the 1-4 shifter because the boot was cracked. He told me that the shifter had frozen and it wouldn't go into 2 or 4. He said when it warmed up it would correct itself and that I should look at getting a new boot so it didn't happen again. I managed to get it warmed up enough to get it shifting again and put a new boot on it and everything was working fine. Yesterday when I went to use the tractor is wouldn't go into 2 or 4 again. It hasn't been that cold and there definitely hasn't been any new water getting in there.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a bigger problem here than water in the shifter?

Thanks

Dave

JD 445 with FD620d 820Hours.

I have a 1996 JD 445 with 820 hours. I am about 98% sure the plastic camshaft has broke, rocker arms are not moving up and down as they should. My question: Can all the work needed be done without removing the engine? It looks like after unbolting a few things, the front of the engine can be accessed easily.

Advice from you guys, 3025e purchase

Hello today guys.
Little background, in 2007 I purchased a 2305 and it was a great tractor. Had a loader on it and a 62" deck.
Did everything I asked of it - brushhogging, tilling, snow removal, moved dirt, gravel, etc.
In 2016 I traded it in and got a 2025R. Good tractor does everything the 2305 did. Bigger, more loader and 3 pt lift.
I pretty much like it, but it needs a bit more power.
I've always liked the 3025e for the bigger frame and motor but 2 things have held me back.
1) No mid mount mower for the 3025e. I cut a lot of area, and even though I have 2 GTs, this tractor will cut grass.
2) The loader is factory installed and can be a problem to take off. But there now is a parking stand for it.
To anyone who has one, how does this work and is it relatively easy to remove the loader?

Today just for kicks I call my local dealer and ask about a 3025e. He said he has one on the lot, its a 2017.
I ask him how much for the 3025e with a loader. He puts me on hold for a while, comes back with the price.
To say I was shocked would be an understatement.

$14,500.

I ask him to check his figures again. He does and says $14,500.
I've done business with this salesman for years, many transactions and I trust him.
OK, I ask him how much for trade in. It's a 2016 2025R, H-130 loader, and 62" MMM. He comes back and says
"It'll be a wash" (same price for trade 2025R for the 3025e)
So now I'm thinking how would the 3025e do with a finish mower?
Anyone pulling a finish mower behind one of these?

Holy crap, now I'm intrigued. What do you think guys, would you do it? I'm going to look at it in an hour or two.

Thank you for your time reading, and I'll welcome any and all opinions on this

Steve

Good afternoon all,
I have been a viewer of GTT for quite some time now as a lot of my customers are members here. A good friend of mine, most of you know him as "sulley bear" finally twisted my arm enough to make myself an account. I do work for a Deere dealer and have been in the compact tractor business for 6 years now. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding new models, features, implements etc. I do however ask that any questions regarding pricing are directed to me personally. Thank you for the opportunity to be here and I look forward to helping in any way that I can. :greentractorride::greentractorride::greentractorr ide

I have been looking all around for info for installing a power beyond kit (that I have). I have a 400x loader with a WR Long 4 in 1 bucket with their 3rd function valve installed and I am wondering if the power beyond instructions will work or do I need to hook up the hydraulics differently because of the 3rd function, and if so, are there any other parts needed and if so, what ports do I use. I can't find anything about this anywhere. Thanks and I look forward to talking to you all.

I have been on this site a number of time looking for info while I was restoring a 1968 110 square fender. That is done now and will be moving on to the front blade and the mower deck. I restored the tractor to use it and am amazed at the capabilities of such a small tractor. I have been around large tractors all my life on my family's farm but this is the first garden tractor I have ever used. I fabricated a bracket for the back to hold up to 4 suitcase weights and a toolbox. The weights make a huge difference when using the blade!

3720 starts and runs but intermittently dies

$

Hey guys,
Looking for some help here. I am working on a 3720 that starts up and runs fine for anywhere from a few minutes to a half hour and then dies. after it dies i crank it for several seconds, sometimes it starts and dies again, other times it takes several tries cranking and it will start up and die, then start up and run for a few seconds. I removed the outlet from the fuel tank which was _completely_ clogged with algae/ sludge of some kind, the bottom of the tank also had a thick layer of sludge. Removed the tank cleaned it, cleaned the outlet filter, sediment bowl, fuel filter was brand new so i did not replace. Checked all the soft fuel lines before they hit the block and all were clear. put new fuel in. Tractor started up ran great for about 20mins then started dying out intermittently again, albeit not as often as before. I am going to run it without the fuel cap today and pray that maybe the fuel cap is not venting haha.
I am wondering if anyone has any other suggestions.. The fuel restriction at the tank was definitely causing a problem as i could see the sediment bowl fill with air at the top while the tractor ran. Is it possible my in line fuel pump is plugged or not operating fully in some way? it seems to vibrate excessively while tractor key is on. Anyway any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.. Thanks

Just throwing this out there but it seems like there are less and less posts on the utility tractor forum.:dunno:I like to think that there are less problems with the tractors any thoughts?
