5300 Transmission Problem?

$

My 1997 MFWD 5300, got stuck in very deep mud today and barely got out. In the process, I was using the diff lock in A range and the transmission started clicking & clunking--would only move a few inches then nothing. Then when I got out the mud hole, A range will barely drive but it is like it is hanging up not in gear fully. Grinds and pops in the same place as the rear wheels turn.. even in neutral when tires are still rolling in A range. This is only affecting A range in each of the 4 gears. All gears in B & C are fine. Anyone have this issue? Is the diff lock stuck some how? Not sure how B & C are perfect but only A has this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated but splitting open the tranny unless something simple would be beyond my skill level. Thank you,

Bye Kermit

He's been really good to me, but we are trading our 1025R in. 3038E and Z920M for mower replacement being dropped off supposedly tomorrow. I appreciate the input I've gotten here with the few little issues I've had, so thanks everyone. Pictures to follow...

Rip-rap

I took advantage of the warm weather and low lake level to start putting 12 tons of rip-rap along the shoreline today. This stuff is a pain to work with, but my 3032E does the trick.

4320 with WR Long 3rd function vlv power beyond help

I have been looking all around for info for installing a power beyond kit (that I have). I have a 400x loader with a WR Long 4 in 1 bucket with their 3rd function valve installed. I can't find anything about this anywhere. I was told due to the rocker switch kit I have from WR Long, I can not do it and I'd have to get the kit that has the red push button or install "tees" in the supply and return lines for the install. It seems that the "tees" will not work. Thanks and I look forward to talking to you all.

Titan 5' Rock Rake/with wheels

I try to buy American made whenever possible or at least I intend to do so...my JD has a Yanmar diesel in it.... but recently being in need of a good landscape rake I just could not warrant the $ for one of the big named USA makers offerings so I bought a Titan 5' wheeled rake thinking how bad could the Chinese screw that up? Well it was delivered today an to my surprise not only is it well made but it was made here in the good old USA. And I do not mean assembled here but made here. Delivered to the door with liftgate service including Pa. .06% tax for right at $600. It is every bit as well made as my old LandPride rake.

Blade $700, 300 pounds, Wings $200, 70 pounds. I used the blade on a 6 inch snow and was happy with it so far. Have not used it with the wings yet. This blade is much better than the 54" Deere blade. The wings fit this blade very well. Over 7 foot span with the wings on. KIMG0993.jpgKIMG0996.jpgKIMG1115.jpgKIMG1111.jpgKIMG0997.jpgKIMG1104.jpg

3 point hitch sway bar stabilizers

Has anyone fabricated their own or purchased a set of 3 point hitch stabilizer bars to replace the turnbuckle chains on their 5410 or similar model tractor? My Ford 3930 has them and I love them. I'd really like to purchase a set or have something made for my 5410. Looking for pictures of what's out there.

Thanks,

Dave

Question on Landpride FSP spreaders

Hi all!
What are people's experience with the Landpride FSP spreader lineup?
I am looking at the FSP500 to spread sand on my 750' driveway using my 1026r. Has anyone had issues with this spreader or the material that I am intending to spread with it?
Much appreciated!

A new to us addition arrived today courtesy of CL. It's a Kubota M6800- not the "wish" tractor for sure as it's shy a few horses and only 2wd but with the price we paid it may have to be good enough. So far, there doesn't seem to be much wrong with it although the starter cranks it slower than I would like. That may be the battery cables, ground or something similar. Fortunately, it seems to start with less than one full revolution so maybe that's just the way it is.

Hopefully it will do what we need, if not we probably can get our money back selling it again. The bucket on the loader has almost no wear so as we switch to a skid steer mount, that bucket may be for sale. It's fine except the pin on brackets are continuous welded to the loader and it would be a lot of grinding to switch to skid steer mounts.

Here it is on the previous owner's trailer. There wasn't an inch to spare.

Tracks for small tractors

Ok. I'm really liking the idea of this. I have a 60 acre swamp that partially dries up in the summer. I have been thinking of a way to clean it up in the summer and plant for duck hunting. I would think these would disperse the weight allot better than wheels. Thoughts?

Comparing tractors.

Been watching some Messicks videos on youtube. Very informative info from them without a lot of brand bashing. Some were kind of skewed slightly. Like older models compared against latest Kubotas. But all in all very well done I thought. One thing he kept referring to was no matter how good the tractor is if the dealer is bad its a bad deal. I totally agree with that.
