I have about an acre of lawn area that I fertilize. Pushing the little, tipsy, Scotts spreader around got too old. Lowes 130# tow behind, $199.
1. Assembly takes a little while. Pay attention to drawings. Disassembled several times because I was smarter than the drawings.
2. Hooked up to the D130. Hitch is a little low to keep it level. I'll need to come up with something, maybe.
3. Bought 3 40# bags of fertilizer. It may hold 130#, but only 2 will fit in the hopper. 3 might, if you have perfectly level terrain. I don't have ANY level terrain.
4. Access to the control stick is OK. Really would be better if it was offset to one side. Easy enough though.
5. Hard to see what the broadcast pattern is doing while looking back. I could hear it hitting the greenhouse, etc, just couldn't see it.
6. Set on 4 for the first try with granular product. That got me the coverage listed with about 2 passes over everything.
7. Ran about 1/2 throttle and maybe 3/4 to full pedal. Didn't time for actual speed. They say 3 MPH.
8. Started to rain just after I laid it out, so I didn't get a chance to look at grain coverage.
9. Very stable on my slopes and rough terrain, even with a full hopper. Was a bit concerned, but bounced it around pretty good after getting comfortable with it.
10. Easy to clean. Gets most of the product out. Taking hills and bouncing around and I was able to empty it completely.
11. It's setup for a lawn tractor. Wouldn't be able to reach controls with the 1025R.
12. Didn't mess with turning it off around corners. We'll see if there is a difference in Green there.
Seems like a good product. We'll see how the coverage and evenness is when the lawn perks up.
