Hi all, i am new to deere tractors and hydro tractors in general. I have a probably really dumb question i am looking for guidance on. I see a small drip as use on the seal by the right rear axle next to the tire. As far as gearing/drive on the rear axle would this leak be hydraulic fluid as part of the drive or is this gear oil for lubricating gears? Sorry for the lame question. I reviewed the manual and it only speaks about checking transmission oil on the rear sight gauge. That sight gauge is still showing 75% full. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

backhoe on 4052r
Have scheduled JD service to look at my backhoe which won't respond to the lever to raise the boom. I did notice that when I first used it the boom dropped to the ground within an hour or so while in contrast my front loader hasn't yet touched the ground after 3 days starting at 3 feet off the ground. Does this sound like a leaking valve? No visible leaks anywhere. I want to give the service person an idea of what actually happens while I (Being a novice with backhoes) don't know what the 'normal' drop rate might be from a full up position to touching the ground. Any ideas?
thanks

bigiron.com
Anyone ever use this site? I just registered, looks like CO has a decent amount and there are some in KS and NE, which are close enough by for a days drive if the deal is good enough.
Looks like they are in the following states.

I'm watching a bunch of hay making gear right now, just out of curiosity.

Titan 42" forks
Got these things on sale 2 weeks ago. Best damn add-on for these little tractors! Moving this, digging out that. Even trenched about a row for some irrigation lines. Just plain awesome the amount of cool stuff these can do. I love em!

What size roller?
My apologies in advance if my lack of search expertise did not find an answer.
I want to get a roller for my yard. I need to smooth out several spots...moles, heaving, etc.
Is there an advantage to 60" over 48"? Or vice versa? Ability to pull the weight is not an issue. Maneuverability is not an issue.
Thanks for insight.

My CL 1951 John Deere A
All,
First of my tractors profiles,
This is my 1951 A I bought on Craigslist last year for $1200.00. I bought it online because the owner said the sheet metal was good and I was looking for sheet metal for my dad's 51 AW. I did not ask or know if it ran, just wanted to get it because of the straight metal. I think every panel on my dad's is dented, LOL.
Anyway, I get there after a 3 hour drive and he fires it up and drives it on my trailer. Runs better than my dad's A. So, now I a have two and will be in search of metal again.
A side story, got in truck and it wouldn't start. Paid a service guy a hundred bucks to hit the bottom of my fuel tank while I turned the key and got it started and home. And, I didn't shut it down until I got it home. New FP went in the next weekend off.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures.

need help choosing and info for a upgrade set of brakes on my chevy silverado 1500
i want to upgrade my front rotors, and calipers on my 2006 chevy 4/4 pickup. i have had Wagner's rotor's and pads on for several yrs. but they are starting to wear down, and i do believe i have one caliper sticking some, as of last summer when the boy changed out the pads, the inside pad was wore out, and the outside was like new.
so what's any good at a decent price. i have had my eye on some slotted rotors, and ceramic pads. would like to try a set for where i live, it's up and down all the time. the wagners have been good, but they are pricey too. so educate me on some better kinds, as i'm out of the loop on this stuff-ok.
here's what i found on rock auto-is rock auto -ok?

Synthetic or cable for the winch?
I'm looking to install a winch on my ATV but I'm not sure if I should get the synthetic or steel cable. Who has either and why did you go that route? Also what brand are you using?
Googling this question was a waste of time as most of the comments were from people who heard or had a distant relative etc.

U-joint grease zerk
Hello, I have a 2016 2032r and in the manual it says to grease the drive shaft. I can't seem to find any zerks on the u- joints. Did they move to a sealed joint or am I missing something? Thanks for any help.

My trailer is a bit too short.
I have a 12' trailer that fits my 1025r with FEL perfect. If I ever need to haul it with the FEL and brush hog, at least half of the brush hog will hang off the back. Does anyone know the regulations around this. Is that okay if it has a flag on it?

Best trailer for X350 to tow long distance
I need to find a trailer for towing my X350 about 300 miles round trip every other week. I have some properties out of town that I've had to start maintaining the lawns and it's just easier (and cheaper believe it or not) for me to do it myself.
I'll be pulling with an F-150 equipped with a V8. I'd like to be as economical as possible while maintaining safety and versatility. Along with the lawn tractor, I'll also need to take a small push mower to get in one backyard that I cannot access with this mower as well as the typical weed eater and blower and a couple of small 2gal gas tanks.
Does anyone have suggestions? Features that I should be very specific when looking? Should I stick with new or press my luck with Craigslist?
I've been driving the thing up into the bed of the truck with ramps and truthfully, it scares me. I have to find the perfect spot to lower the height of the bed otherwise I can't get it up in there. Longer ramps just aren't an option. I'm already scared to death of the ones I'm currently using and have pinched my fingers more times than I care to admit. :banghead:
I apologize for being a newbie. :) I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for - pretty sure once I start learning the lingo I'll get better at this.

1986 Ford 1210 - 3PH pulses up/down slightly with heavy load
My brother has a 1986 Ford 1210. Recently it has developed an issue where the 3PH pulses up/down slightly when there is a heavy load attached like a 6ft rear blade. It is most noticeable when the hitch is raised to the half-way point. It will sit there and continue to raise and lower by about an inch or so. It does not exhibit this condition when the hitch is raise all the way or lowered all the way. It also has to have a certain about of weight on the hitch to do it. The 250+ lb. rear blade will do it but a 200lb person on the hitch will not.
Any ideas?
It's been almost 200 hrs since the hydraulic fluid and filters have been changed.
I would also be interested if anyone knows the details on the hydraulic filters on this tractor. Looking at the parts listing it appears to have three filters. A main spin-on filter on the left side of the engine, a filter cartridge inside a bullet-shaped silver housing on top the hydraulic pump, and a suction screen filter located on the left side of the rear axle housing, just inside the rear tire.
I've include photos of the filters below.

New member and have a question
Hey Y'all. I am new here and have a question I hope someone can answer. We bought a JD riding lawnmower last year. 42" deck but not the rear bagger. However, we bought another rear bagger that fits a 52' deck. It is brand-new but out of the box and we got a good deal on it. Tried to put it on our 42 but obviouly does not fit correctly. Trying to sell it and no luck, so I was wondering if there is a way to use it but modify it to work with ours. Sorry if its a dumb question, just new to this and the lawnmower. Thanks!

Seat Adjustment
I recently bought 5075E with 900 hr. The seat bottoms out even with the weight adj. set to max weight. Maybe im too heavy but at 225lb. I feel it should not be bottoming out. Also the height adjustment doesn't seem to do anything either. Any insight into this problem would be appreciated.
