Looking for feedback on a cargo carrier idea I'm working on for my 1025r

I purchased a new 1025r a couple of weeks ago. It has a 60" mower, 647 Tiller, and the H120 loader. I have been looking at other implements, add ons, and customizations for it....nothing excessive as the machine is pretty much perfect for what I need, but there are definitely a couple of other things I'd like. One of these is a "cargo carrier" type box for behind the seat/above the 3ph. In my search I found the one that Omni sells:

I really like this one, its about perfect for what I want/need. However, it requires the 3ph to be tied up if you're going to use it, as it rests in one of their combo hitches. I plan on using the bucket a lot, which will require ballast or I'll be using the tiller a fair amount (at least right now because I'm working on a new yard). Anyway, the point is I don't want to tie up the hitch with a tool carrier and I also want the carrier available....so unless I'm missing some product, I've got a dilemma.

The idea I have right now is to have a custom 2" receiver built that spans between the bottom portion of my ROPS....about mid level of the back of the seat. Then I can simply mount the carrier on the receiver and keep on there as long as I want it. The plan is to put some thought into the fabrication to make sure the bottom of the carrier doesn't interfere with the operation of the hitch in its highest setting with the tiller attached. I have no intention of pulling with the receiver, it is simply a way to mount the box and still be able to remove the carrier quickly if I need to.

I have spoken to a local fabricator and he's certain it will be an easy thing to build (as I figured). I haven't finalized my idea yet or anything, just looking for some feedback. I realize that the ROPS is a safety device and I'm not trying to damage it. Like I said, I have no desire to pull with it and it seems to me that the bar going between the ROPS would make the whole structure even stronger.

The only downside I can come up with on my own is decreased visibility to the tiller with the carrier in place and it could be one more thing for me to get wrapped up in if I would ever tip the tractor. I guess I figured I can take the carrier off if the visibility really becomes an issue and honestly....I'm guessing the carrier would be the least of my issues if I'm upside down in my ditch.

Anyway, I'm new to the forum and new to tractors in general. I figured the members here could provide me some insight if I shared my idea, so there you go. Simply looking for reasons this might be a total disaster or that it might be able to fly. Thanks.
