Good morning folks and a belated happy father's day to all the JD guys who are dads out there.
I've been pulling apart the 89 318 with the Onan P218G engine to recondition everything and I have the technical manual for the tractor and a PDF of the Onan engine info. I am finding that while they're great for certain things, unlike the Bentley I had for my GTI, they don't have great exploded views for reassembling things. Does anyone have a good picture of an exposed but wired/put together P218G or a diagram so I can make sure that
1. I have the correct items going through the correct openings in the firewall as I had to pull it to put new insulation on it.
2. I have the wiring on the coil, etc and the various grounds correct.
3. I won't blow anything up. :)
I can turn the key and get dash lights. If I turn it to start I hear a buzzing coming from the Hella relay that's in line for the lights, if I disconnect that, I don't get anything. This engine hasn't been run in a time, so I imagine the first start won't be the easiest but I don't even hear the starter kicking over or anything, not even clicking so I want to be sure everything is getting juice like it should.
thanks very much!
